The Onondaga Citizens League (OCL) continues its current study, “How CNY Works” by inviting the public to participate in the next study session. OCL is examining the diversity of CNY’s economic base. The next session will be held at Mercy Works’ Vision Center  on Wednesday, November 30, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

This session will focus on what helps or hinders persons who seek work in CNY. With the area’s high level of concentrated poverty, finding ways for people to get and retain stable employment is essential. A diverse group of panelists–representing government, nonprofits and community activists–will lead a discussion of “workforce development” and the variety of approaches taken locally, along with a look at keys to success and obstacles to employment.

Mercy Works’ Vision Center is located at 1221 So. Salina St. (near the corner of E. Raynor Ave.) on the south side of Syracuse. Traveling by public transportation? Any of Centro’s Salina/Valley/Nedrow buses (Route “10”) will get you there.
