This report examines youth and violence, and the increasing sense that the violence is both more deadly in nature and more widespread than it has been in the past.  The report categorizes findings and recommendations in three categories: children and youth; programs and institutions; and the community. These conclusions are based on the perspective that views childhood and youth as a critical stage of life when individuals learn life skills and become part of a community and a culture.
